Her History |
On September 15, 2001 Skylar became an American Champion!! And then on October 19, 2001 she became a Canadian Champion!! All under 14 months old!! Continue scrolling down to see more details and some highlights of her show career! |
First here is a picture of Skylar still just learning how to stack at about 4 months old! |
Skylar's third time ever in the ring at the 1st annual DPCA Eastern Regional which was in conjunction with the CT River Working Group Specialty Show takes RWB to a 5 point major under Breeder/Judge Bill Shelton! |
And then on the next day, Sunday, Skylar takes Winners Bitch (for a 5 point major!) Best of Winners, Best of Breed, and Best Puppy In Breed (under breeder/judge Betty Brockman James) and later that day Best Puppy In Show!!!!! WOW!!!!! There were a total of 82 Dobermans entered that day. These wins were all owner/handled at the tender age of 7 months!! I would like to thank both Betty James and Bill Shelton for recognizing such a wonderful Dobe puppy!! |
Skylar is seen above taking her second major (3 points) under respected judge Mrs. Denny Kodner! This gives her 8 points total at 8 months of age!! |
After her first heat and a false pregnancy Skylar decided she didn't want to show for her "Mommy" anymore, so above at the Granite State Doberman Pinscher Club Specialty, Skylar takes WB and BPISS for 2 more points under Barbara Brooks...handled beautifully by Michelle Ostermiller! |
Carroll County Kennel Club of NH Skylar takes Winners Bitch for 2 more points under Dr. Elizabeth Lewis, which leaves her needing only 2 more points to finish!! |
WOW!!! Third weekend in a row Skylar goes WB/BOW for 2 more points under Dorothy Hutchinson making her an American Champion at 13 months old!!! Again she was beautifully handled by Kelly Marquis!! |
At the 2001 Doberman Nationals held in Kentucky Skylar takes Best Junior in Futurity under Handler/Judge Gwen DeMilta!! And her first time out as a special makes a cut for the breed!! |
And in Canada..... |
Skylar picks up WB/BOW/BPIB for 3 points and then Best Puppy in Group!! |
On our last trip up to Canada, Skylar finished on Friday by going WB/BOW for 3 points, and as a move up both Saturday and Sunday takes Best of Breed over 5 specials and is awarded a Group 2 both days!!!! |

I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new I thought about you yesterday and days before that too, I think of you in silence, I often speak your name, All I have are memories and your picture in a frame, Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part, God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. Skylar I love you more than words can say....sleep softly Grandma |
8/4/00 - 4/16/11 Skylar died of an inopperable intestinal blockage |
